24-years-old Damar Hamlin has the world praying for his well-being. On Monday, January 2nd, the Buffalo Bills’ safety collapsed on the field after tackling wide receiver Tee Higgins.
Soon after the dreadful occurrence, Damar Hamlins’ toy fundraiser which he started for ‘Kelly and Nina’ Day-care Center’ got poured by donations. More than 125K donors decided to share their love towards Damar through the donations. Basically, Damar organized a fundraiser to help the community he hailed from with a goal to reach $2,500.
The fundraiser has collected more than $3,200,000 after the Bills player dropped motionless on the field. The incident was saddening as the team trainers and paramedics rushed to help him out. Reports established that the young player suffered a cardiac arrest on the field in the first quarter of the game against Cincinnati Bengals.
Damar Hamlin wrote in his fundraiser for children, “As I embark on my journey to the NFL, I will never forget where I come from and I am committed to using my platform to positively impact the community that raised me.”

“I created The Chasing M’s Foundation as a vehicle that will allow me to deliver that impact, and the first program is the 2020 Community Toy Drive.”
The campaign started by Damar was his first initiative. He wished to provide safety to the children who were hit hard by the pandemic. His fundraiser ensured that the entire donations received would be advanced towards buying toys for these kids.
The Buffalo Bills tweeted a statement with respect to Damar’s situation. “His heartbeat was restored on the field, and he was transferred to the (University of Cincinnati) Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition,”
