The New Orleans Saints have just finished their worst season since their 7-9 campaign in 2016, but the only plans executive vice president and general manager Mickey Loomis has is to move forward with Dennis Allen as the team’s head coach.

Despite the fact that Saints defensive coordinator turned head coach Dennis Allen led New Orleans to a 7-10 record in his first season at the helm, they did win three of their last four to stay in the thick of a weak NFC South until the penultimate week of the season, and Loomis has started preaching the same dedication to stability that played a part in promoting Allen from within the organization in the first place.

He added, “That obviously starts with ownership and GM and head coach and having a core group of players that you nurture and develop. And so that’s the attitude that we have and that’s the process and that’s the things that we believe in. So, I’m expecting to continue that.”

The Loomis, Allen, and Saints teams will surely face a variety of obstacles in the games to come. Because of a deal with the Eagles, the New Orleans Saints will not have a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft when the offseason begins. This is also the worst salary cap position in the league, according to estimates, the squad will spend a total of $271,3 million between now and 2023.

There is also no clear answer at quarterback, and even though the defense ranked in the top 10 in both points and yards allowed for the third season in a row, cornerstones like Demario Davis and Cameron Jordan will both be 34 when the next year’s training camp begins, there is no clear answer there either.
