The San Francisco 49ers faced off against the Chicago Bears to kickstart their new season with Trey Lance as their quarterback. They were favorites heading into this game, but the result didn’t go their way.

In very wet conditions, Trey Lance struggled and failed to make any decent contribution to the team. On the other hand, Justin Fields was able to make many good plays and helped his team get this crucial win.

Lance was very disappointed with himself because of his consideration. He took the blame for the loss on himself and claimed that he knows he needs to get better going ahead.

Following the loss, Lance said, “I made too many mistakes… I had a big miss to Tyler Kroft in the endzone…I turned the ball over, took a sack that took us out of field goal range that I shouldn’t have, missed Deebo on a third down, missed another third down to Jauan. Just too many mistakes.”

The San Francisco 49ers will face the Seattle Seahawks next week. It will be a much easier game for Trey Lance to step up and lead his team to a win. If he fails in that game also, then some questions will be asked about him for carrying as the starting quarterback of the 49ers.
