How was Russell Westbrook’s performance with the Los Angeles Lakers?

From average spectators to experts, everybody could judge Westbrook’s performance for the Lakers without breaking much sweat.

Notably, Westbrook was born in California and LA Lakers was his hometown team. This Californian native came to LA Lakers in 2021 and played just 130 games for his hometown team. These 130 games by Westbrook were non-memorable to state in short.

Westbrook, who is also the 2017 NBA MVP, never really fit in with the LeBron James-led Lakers team.

One must take note that Westbrook has always played a possession-heavy game during his entire NBA career. Coming to Lakers, the scenario was completely different. Westbrook clearly struggled to adjust with the Lakers system and the struggle promptly reflected in his games.

During his entire time with the Lakers, Westbrook struggled with his shooting and had a high rate of turnovers.

Moreover, since last fall, Lakers took a hard decision and decided to let Westbrook come off the bench. Hence, from last fall, Westbrook was regularly coming off the bench.

Coming off the bench proved better for Westbrook as his numbers became efficient than before. However, the improvement was not significant enough to win games.

34-year-old Westbrook played two seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers and during this time averaged 17.4 points, 7.2 assists, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.7 turnovers per game.

Furthermore, this is the final year of his contract and Westbrook is set to make about $47 million in this final year.
