After taking on the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, Nikola Jokic had one of his most efficient games of the 2022-23 season. Nuggets came out of the game with a 122-109 victory improving their record to 27 wins and 13 losses. LeBron James was not a part of the squad due to a sore left ankle.

Jokic was termed as “a truly selfless superstar,” by Denver Nuggets’ head coach Michael Malone. He justified his potential after his career-high 16 assists show. The Serbian center delivered a perfect 5 of 5 from the floor and 3 of 3 from the free throw line. He is now the first NBA player to record 15+ assist triple-double while shooting 100% from the field.

The 2021 and 2022 NBA MVP had a point to prove after his name was slipping from this year’s MVP contention. His competitions, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant are putting up performances to snatch his third consecutive MVP award.

There’s not many guys like him that I’ve ever been around.”

In a recent podcast episode, The Fast Break, rookie Christian Braun shared his experience with Nikola Jokic. He felt that this year, Jokic is poised to attain his 3rd consecutive MVP award. “He comes in, he brings the same energy and the same focus and he’s not afraid to be a leader,” added Braun.

“He’ll grab you and be like ‘Hey, these five minutes we are stretching, you need to take this seriously,’ so his routine and his dedication to his craft is impressive. There is not a single player in this league that can stop him one-on-one and the best part about Nikola is obviously that he is super unselfish as far as passing goes”
