Donovan Mitchell has joined the NBA 70-point club list as a result of his great Cleveland Cavaliers performance against the Chicago Bulls. Donovan Mitchell broke out of a funk in the most spectacular way possible in his 33rd game as a Cavalier by scoring 71 points, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Kobe Bryant, David Thompson, Elgin Baylor, David Robinson, and most recently Devin Booker among NBA players to reach that mark.

NBA fans would be startled to find that hardly fewer players have hit 70 or more points in league history. Surprisingly, the GOATS of the game, LeBron James and Michael Jordan, are not included. Jordan nearly surpassed The King’s (LeBron James) career-high 69 points, which he once scored with 61.

Rarely do games reach 70 points so do the players make it to the NBA 70 point club list. Only six players have ever scored 70 points or more in league history, with Wilt Chamberlain being responsible for six of the league’s total 11 scoring outbursts.

As far as NBA scoring goes, Kobe Bryant is second in this list. Some of his supporters might remember the gesture he made in 2006 when playing the Toronto Raptors.
