Dillon Brooks is quickly forming a reputation for himself as one of the most controversial players in the league. Dillon Brooks earned his 18th technical foul of the season for his comments at Theo Pinson

When Brooks was asked afterwards regarding the taunt he made at Pinson during the third quarter of the game, he said he wanted to let Pinson know he is just a cheerleader now. “I just wanted to let him know he was a cheerleader,” Brooks said. “Same class, I grew up watching him play, and he was a great player. Now he gets paid to cheerlead. I love it.”

Pinson responded to Brooks’ remarks, hilariously stating that he owns real estate in Brooks’ head. It has to be noted that there is history between the two, as Brooks and his Oregon Ducks had lost to Pinson’s Tar Heels in 2017. Pinson was a starter for North Carolina back then but is very much a bench player in the NBA now, having never started a game in his five-year career.

As per the current NBA rules, a player or coach is automatically suspended without pay for one game once he receives his 16th technical foul during a regular season. For every two additional technical fouls received during that regular season, the player or coach will be automatically suspended without pay for an additional game.
