Dallas Mavericks took the lead after leveling the Warriors tally of 30 points in the second quarter and maintained points difference over their opponents. At times they led by 14 points till Golden State made a push in the 3rd quarter. The score was 63-63 near the end of 3rd.

Finney Smith drained a huge 3-pointer which eventually started the never-ending chase for the Warriors. Dallas won a relatively low-scoring game with a 99-82 score. Luka Doncic scored game-high 26 points while Andrew Wiggins was the Warriors’ top scorer with 17 points.

Stephen Curry struggles and injury

Golden State Warriors average around 112 points per game and sharp-shooter Stephen Curry shared the major chunk of scoring. Curry is averaging 27.2 points this season. But lately, he is struggling with the points. Curry scored just 9 points (51st game below 10 points in his career) against Miami Heat in his previous game.

Also today, he was not as energetic and sharp as he used to be for the team. Curry managed just 14 points in the game. The regular-season MVP candidate was 5 of 24 from the field and just 1-9 from 3 point range.

He even suffered a quad injury as he went down after colliding with a defender in the third quarter. Warriors called the time out and Steph was examined by the trainers. Curry did manage to finish the game but will be uncertain for the next game.

When asked about the injury, Curry said, “The way it feels right now, I’m not optimistic but we’ll see,”. The Warriors will be facing New Orleans Pelicans next before hosting the Cavs on Sunday. Klay Thompson is expected to play in Sunday’s home game.
