Skip Bayless seems to fear for Russell Westbrook after the Los Angeles Lakers star has reportedly been traded to the Utah Jazz.

Russell Westbrook has not had the best of times playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. Since his trade to the Lakers in 2021, the former MVP had a shocker of a first season as the Lakers failed to qualify for the Playoffs right after winning the Championship – and followed it up with an underwhelming second season, where even with improvement in his game, the Lakers are not any better.

It has surfaced that Los Angeles Lakers are trading Russell Westbrook to Utah and reacquiring guard D’Angelo Russell from Minnesota in a three-team and eight-player deal. Los Angeles is also getting guard Malik Beasley and forward Jarred Vanderbilt from the Jazz, bolstering its new core around the record breaking LeBron James in a bid to jump-start its sputtering season.

The Lakers fell to 25-30 after their loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, and they sit in 13th in the Western Conference. While the Lakers are sending Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damian Jones and their first-round pick in 2027 to Utah, Minnesota is reportedly getting Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker from Utah, along with three second-round picks.

While the news of the trade has received all sorts of reactions, NBA analyst Skip Bayless gave his own take on the news.

What did Skip Bayless have to say about Russell Westbrook being traded?

The NBA analyst on ESPN took to his Twitter account to ask a question about Russell Westbrook’s next team if he does get traded.

Despite a much better performance this season, Westbrook is on the chopping block

The analyst who has never shied away from criticizing the former MVP for his unsuccessful stint in Los Angeles took to his Twitter account to ask the question: “If Russell Westbrook gets bought out, will anyone want him?” It has been revealed that Westbrook’s trade to the Utah Jazz has a buy out clause mentioned in it, and any interested team can acquire his services if they want to.

However, according to Bayless, there is no certainty if Russ will have potential suitors at this stage of the regular season. It will certainly be interesting to see how the story unfolds as we approach the trade deadline.
