Shaquille O’Neal (Shaq aka DJ Diesel) has been named as one of the stars to feature at this year’s Indianapolis 500 Snake Pit.
Shaquille O’Neal is often considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time, as well as one of the best centers to ever play the game. While in his prime, Shaq was known for his unique and deadly combination of size, speed and strength that made him one of the toughest players in the NBA to go up against, he has been known for a lot of other things after retirement.
Since hanging up his boots in 2011, Shaq is mostly known as an entrepreneur with a net worth of close to $400m, an NBA analyst, a DJ, a commentator, a podcast host as well as a comedian. The NBA Hall of Famer has had a career on the side making music as well, and it turns out that he has been named as one of the stars to feature at this year’s Indianapolis 500 Snake Pit.
The 2023 Indianapolis 500 Snake Pit presented by Coors Light will run throughout the morning of May 28, 2023 on the infield near Turn 3 of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval. While Shaq has been named as one of the performers, he will be joined by Subtronics, John Summit and Kaskade – who has previously headlined the festival back in 2015.

Having released multiple full studio hip-hop albums while at the prime of his NBA career in the 1990s, Shaq is no stranger to the music industry and years after his retirement from basketball, Shaq is now on a career as a DJ under the name “DJ Diesel.” Diesel most recently completed a live set at his “Shaq’s Fun House” event in Los Angeles during the Super Bowl LVI weekend.
Performing as a DJ since during the 1990s, Shaq has since performed in festivals such as Tomorrow World and Lollapalooza – the former Los Angeles Lakers center has also spoken about how no music is off-limits for him.
