The Portland Trail Blazers have struck a great deal with the Detroit Pistons for Jeremi Grant. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Blazers have acquired Grant in exchange for a 2025 first-round pick via the Milwaukee Bucks.

This is a very good pickup for Portland, as they are continuing to add major pieces around Damian Lillard to make them a championship-contending team.

The free agency is ahead of us, and trading away Jeremi Grant has helped the Pistons to create a lot of cap space. They have $43 million in salary-cap space for free agency. The Pistons have a young roster, and with that amount of money, they can add a player like DeAndre Ayton who could prove to be a very big player for them.

How do the Portland Trail Blazers look after acquiring Jeremi Grant?

The Portland Trail Blazers have got a good scorer with a big body who can defend. Jeremi Grant will fight right into the Blazers team under coach Chauncey Billups.

If the Blazers don’t add another star player, their lineup still looks quite better than what they had last season. Damian Lillard will be coming back, and he’ll pair up with emerging Anfernee Simons in the back-court.

Jusuf Nurkic is likely to remain with the team, and play at the center. While Josh Hart, who was brought from the Pelicans, will be sharing the frontcourt with Jeremi Grant. This isn’t a championship-contending roster yet, but the Blazers are moving in the right direction.
