Oklahoma City Thunder stuck to their plan and drafted Chet Holmgreen with the 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft 2022.
The top order of the NBA Draft 2022 was shaken when Paolo Banchero went to the Orlando Magic as the 1st overall pick. With Jabari Smith available, people started to wonder whether the Oklahoma City Thunder will choose Jabari over Chet Holmgreen.
However, OKC stuck to their plan and drafted Chet Holmgreen from Gonzaga with the 2nd overall pick in the NBA Draft 2022. He is just the right player that they needed on this team.
Sam Presti, the GM of OKC had his sight set on Chet for a long time. Even though Jabari Parker was available, the team didn’t hesitate in drafting their man from Gonzaga, and hopefully, it will turn out to be a good decision.
How will the Oklahoma City Thunder look with Chet Holmgreen?
The Oklahoma City Thunder now has a very group of exciting young players. They already had Shai Gilgeous Alexander, and Josh Giddey who are two very good guards.
With the inclusion of Chet Holmgreen, they have added another dimension to their team. Chet is an elite shot-blocker and is a great shooter which will help the OKC to transcend to another level in the next season. Even though he is just 195lbs, he is likely to get stronger in the future.
