NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that he does not have good news for Los Angeles Lakers fans expecting any big moves ahead of the trade deadline.
The trade deadline in the NBA is approaching, as teams who wish to strengthen their roster are dipping into the market to find solutions or upgrades in certain positions. One of the many teams touted to do so are the Los Angeles Lakers, who many people predicted would dip into the market to try and find a big name or two in order to fix their shooting problems in the team.
One of the biggest problems that the Lakers, who have had a hot and cold season so far, have faced this season is the lack of a consistently successful shooter of the ball. Despite a recent upturn in LeBron James’ shooting form over the past few games, the Lakers still lack the aforementioned profile to fit in alongside James and help them put on a sustainable run of form.
It is exactly why many expected the Lakers to dip into the market to find that required profile, however, according to Adrian Wojnarowski – they might not end up doing so.
What did Adrian Wojnarowski have to say about the Lakers’ activity?
Speaking on ESPN, Wojnarowski explained the Lakers’ mindset approaching the trade deadline.
Wojnarowski explained: “I think the Lakers are like a lot of teams who wanted talent at certain positions. I think it will get a lot more serious next week as we get in that two to three week period before the deadline. I think for the Lakers, players like Bojan Bogdanovic – his shooting, his floor spacing has interested, but the price is significant for that kind of player.”
“There’s not a lot of sellers yet in the market place, multiple draft picks for a player like Bogdanovic right now – and what teams have to ask themselves for incremental improvement – how much do we have to give up. I don’t think there’s any ‘big big’ deals for the Lakers out there, but I do think they’re going to be active around the edges to try to improve this team.”
