An NBA insider claims that if trading was permitted under the rules, LeBron James wants to be traded

If the LA Lakers don’t become better, LeBron James might want to be traded. The Lakers were the champions in 2020, but since then, they had been having a very poor record. James, who is now in his 20th season, has just turned 38. He’s still one of the league’s finest players, but it seems like he’s squandering his remaining years on a team that might not even make the playoffs.

The Lakers are still ranked 12th in the Western Conference despite winning three consecutive games. They must stay healthy and embark on a lengthy winning streak if they are planning to qualify for the playoffs.

Lebron James’ stats and Why he wants to be traded?

LeBron has two more years left on his deal because he extended it with the Lakers throughout the offseason. His salary for this year is about $44.5 million, and the contract will begin in 2023–24. The 18-time All-Star will make $46.9 million next year as a result of the agreement. LeBron will have nothing to worry about the 2024–25 season as he has a player option under his deal.

LeBron will stay a Laker through the summer of 2024, barring any trades. Ethan Skolnick, though, thinks James could be urging a trade. James signed an extension, therefore it’s crucial to note that his deal does not contain a no-trade clause. He does, however, have a 15% trade kicker, which may prevent the Lakers from moving him.

While LeBron James has a lot of detractors, it’s crucial to remember that throughout his 20-year career, he has never deserted his club or asked to be traded. LeBron would have to stay in Los Angeles through 2024 if he chooses not to exercise his player option.
