LeBron James and his LA Lakers are 13-19, on the backs of 3 consecutive defeats. The Athletic’s Boha made a huge prediction on why he feels that the LA Lakers will make it into the Play-in Tournament berths despite not playing their best basketball even until this point. Moreover, with Anthony Davis out for an indefinite time period, this particular analyst seems to have a lot of confidence still left in the abilities of Laker’’ marquee players.

Boha said, “Lakers will make the Play-In Tournament…. That’s about as spicy as I’m willing to get with a group currently facing more questions than answers. Without knowing the extent of Anthony Davis’ injury, or whether the team is going to make a trade, the Lakers’ season is hanging in a weird balance.”

Can the LA Lakers make it into the Play-In Tournament berths?

Davis was the leading point scorer for the 2020 NBA Champs, averaging over 27 points per game, 8.2 rebounds and 6.7 assists. Now with him out, LeBron James has been left scratching his head upon how to break the opposition defense without any other major threat from the field, especially in and around the paint.

He added, “But I think as long as LeBron James remains healthy, they have a decent chance of remaining around .500 until Davis returns. Their young supporting cast is beginning to click, and I think this group can overachieve relative to modest expectations.”
