Richard Jefferson’s father was killed as he remembers his father and Aunt who were victims of Gang Violence

Richard Jefferson, in a recent tweet of his, has opened up about the horrors of gang and gun violence that directly affected his family. Richard Jefferson’s father was killed by such kind of gangs violence was one such incident that had an immense impact on Richard Jefferson till the present date. Jefferson also remembers his aunt who was also shot dead because of this gun violence.

Richard Jefferson’s father was killed on September 19, 2018, in a drive-by shooting in Compton,  the father of seasoned NBA player Richard Jefferson was reported according to investigators. The 65-year-old Jefferson was shot and killed that day in the 600 block of West Peach Street just before 7 o’clock of the evening, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The Tragic Death of Richard Jefferson’s father

Jefferson, an Inglewood resident, was at the intersection of Paulsen Avenue and West Peach Street. The Sheriff’s Department reported that when a dark-colored vehicle with numerous male passengers approached, at least one individual inside the vehicle started firing.

Jefferson received multiple body shots. He was brought to a hospital and was later declared dead there. 

Impact on Richard Jefferson after his father’s death 

Richard Jefferson’s recent tweet said, “My mother moved us away from that life. My aunt was shot killed and so was my father. There is no honor in that BS. My father got away from it but senseless gang violence still took his life at 70. Gun violence will forever trigger my PTSD. Don’t let the proper grammar fool you.”

There were several attempts made by Jefferson’s family in order to prevent themselves from the gang violence but still Richard Jefferson father killed and was made the victim of some idiotic violence killing. Although he claimed in an interview that his mother had relocated him and his two siblings to Arizona when he was 7, and he was born in LA.
