LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers surpassed Magic Johnson on Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks at the Fiserv Forum to move up to sixth all-time on the NBA’s career assists record. Johnson and LeBron James have impressive NBA records.

On the list of all-time NBA assists, LeBron James is now just behind the great point guards John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, Steve Nash, and Mark Jackson. The 37-year-old is also striving to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, another legendary Laker, as the all-time leading scorer in NBA regular season history.

LeBron James needs 936 more points to surpass the illustrious Abdul-record. Jabbar, the former Laker scored 38,387 points in 1,560 games, while LeBron has only scored 37,451 points in 1,381 games. With 7,631 points in 266 games, James has now surpassed all previous scorers in the NBA Playoffs.

The Lakers point forward helped Anthony Davis make a three-point shot with more than eight minutes left in the fourth quarter, passing Hall of Famer Magic Johnson for sixth place in NBA history in the process. After playing 37 minutes into the game against the Bucks on Saturday, LeBron James finished two points short of a triple double with 28 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds. He is a four-time NBA MVP.
