LeBron James has claimed that his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Anthony Davis has been “the best player in the league” after the Lakers’ win over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs in both of their back-to-back clashes on Friday and Saturday. While the Lakers defeated the Spurs at the AT&T Center in San Antonio by a margin of 105-94 courtesy of Anthony Davis’ heroics, they followed it up with a 143-138 win over the home side the following night courtesy of their talisman LeBron James’ return.

The road trip to San Antonio was an important one for the Lakers as James traveled with the team – finally fit to start a game after missing his last five games because of a left adductor strain. The Lakers were dealt with a major boost to have James back, and the talisman certainly played a role in the Lakers’ win – although it was Anthony Davis who took most of the limelight.

The Lakers center had a monstrous performance that saw him rack up 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists – carrying on his hot streak of form this season. In fact, Davis has racked up an average of 26.3 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this season – being one of the Lakers’ best players this season, but his teammate James had even higher praise for him.
