The Slovenian knows been one of the most dominating European stars with him starting his national career for the national team just at 17 and later taking his country to win its first EuroBasket Title in 2017 along with being named to the All-Tournament Team

After rising as one of the most successful youth players in the Euro Leagues, Doncic entered the 2018 NBA Draft and was selected as the third overall pick by the Atlanta Hawks who later traded him to the Dallas Mavericks for “Ice Cold” Trae Young. Maverick’s head coach Rick Carlisle mentioned after the draft “At one point, we thought Doncic could fall for us, but a couple of days ago it was pretty clear that there was no way that was going to happen”.

Luka emerged as the Rookie of the Year in 2019 and has been a regular part of the NBA All-Stars and All-NBA Stars Team since 2020.

“Obviously, Felipe Reyes was my teammate, and he taught me well. He was the veteran over there, and he won almost everything,” Doncic said.

“He was a really big time for my career,” Doncic continued. “Spanoulis was my idol since I was little. I was watching him. It was kind of sad seeing him retire. That’s why I wear No 7. I mean, I couldn’t wear No 7, cause it was already taken, so I took 77. He was really, really big time for me.”

For the Slovenian National team, Doncic carries the same number.
