Josh’s age is 19 years 84 days, when he scored a triple-double, breaking the age criteria by 56 days. Luca Doncic, his opponent for the game also had a triple-double at age 19 years, 327 Days. He now is down to 4th place in the list of youngest to score triple-double.

Josh Giddey reaction

6th overall pick for the 2021 draft, has been a consistent performer for the OKC team and had 7 double-doubles already in 30 games played. Giddey had mixed feelings about the record as he said, “It’s cool, the individual stats, but a win is always better than individual stats for me. I have said if I’m zero-zero-zero and we win, I’m happier than we have triple-double and we lose”

Josh’s game-high 17 points in the match against Dallas Mavericks were not enough to beat the Mavs. Dallas, who welcomed Luca Doncic and 2 other players from the Covid-19 protocol, managed an 86-95 victory over Oklahoma City Thunders. Doncic scored 15 points and managed 10 assists, 9 rebounds for the Mavs.

OKC interim coach Mike Wilks had praised Giddey and his work ethic. Wilks said, “I’m happy for him. He is a hard worker, I get to spend a lot of time with him, and he is (like) a sponge. He is smart for a young player; I am expecting him to grow and continue to develop.”

Josh Giddey had mentioned his desire to learn and grow. He said that he is learning from every game, and progressing mentally more than focusing on the physicality of the game.
