PHOENIX, ARIZONA – FEBRUARY 12: Jordan Poole #3 of the Golden State Warriors during the second half of the NBA game against the Phoenix Suns at Talking Stick Resort Arena on February 12, 2020 in Phoenix, Arizona. The Suns defeated the Warriors 112-106.

Poole starred with 31 points, six rebounds and five assists in the absence of most starting players. He led from the front and produced his fifth 30-point game of the season. Talking in the post match interviews, Jordan Poole thanked Curry for his words from off-court:

“It was huge being able to have Steph on the side, talking to me the entire time. We knew it would be a tough game. I just had to continue being aggressive night in and night out.” (h/t Yahoo)

Coming from the top of the food chain all the way down, everybody is excited for each other, wants to see everybody succeed. Steph was just talking to me the entire game, giving out any piece of advice, personally, as a team, not only to me but other guys as well. Klay [Thompson] was excited“, he added.

Spurs shot 56.1 percent against the Warriors, and went 16-for-33 (50%) on 3-pointers. Warriors won the game because of their 48.4 % overall conversion and the 20-for-46 return on 3-pointers.

Are the Warriors favourites to win the West?

Warriors are currently 39-13 with a 0.750 and have won 8 of their last 10 games. Recent victories have come despite multiple absentees. With a fully fit squad, coach Steve Kerr will be looking to turn back the clock and deliver another NBA title with the team. The Phoenix Suns currently lead the West and pose the biggest threat to them. They have lost only 9 games so far and have multiple stars such as Booker and Chris Paul.

With Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry set to return, Warriors have a strong chance of making a deep run in the NBA Playoffs and even winning the title. They will be hoping that their top stars can keep up their fitness and come up with the goods. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are all-star calibre players.
