Will Kevin Durant play for the Phoenix Suns against the Charlotte Hornets tomorrow?

Durant and the Phoenix Suns are in town to play the Hornets on Wednesday night. The two-time NBA Champion and multiple-time Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) recipient was spotted with several members of the Hornets broadcast team sitting high up in the bleachers. The travelling Suns got to town on Monday and will tip off at Charlotte on Wednesday night.

While Myers Park won the game 76-44 and will play North Meck in the 4A regional final on Saturday, West Charlotte won on the road at Ben Smith H.S., and will face Central Cabarrus in the regional final. However, all of the spotlight – as many would have expected – was on Kevin Durant in the stands, who is yet to play his first game for the Phoenix Suns since his trade.

Why is Kevin Durant yet to make his debut for the Phoenix Suns?

The game will mark a debut for Durant, who was traded from Brooklyn at the trade deadline but was still sitting out with a knee injury.

Since securing a trade away from the Brooklyn Nets on the trade deadline, Durant has been unable to feature for his new franchise courtesy of a knee injury. However, KD told reporters on Tuesday afternoon that he was ready to play. “I feel great,” Durant said. “I was having fun out there before I got injured. Looking forward to going out there and picking up where I left off.”

The 34-year-old Durant is still playing at an elite level, averaging nearly 30 points per game this season. While the Suns are currently fourth in the Western Conference with a 33-29 record, despite having had plenty of injury issues of late – the quartet of Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul and DeAndre Ayton makes them a Championship calibre team.
