Most Christmas games are played by LeBron James and if you’re one of those fans who are wondering about how he will pass Kobe Bryant as the NBA’s all-time leader, then read on. On Christmas Day 2022, LeBron James will play, and he’ll break yet another NBA record.

James will play in his 17th Christmas Day game when the Lakers and Mavericks square off in Dallas. This will end a tie for the most Christmas Day games in NBA history that Kobe Bryant and the late, great Kobe had played in.

James has established (and continued to pursue) a number of records on his journey to being associated with the NBA’s showcase day. James, who played 17 games on Christmas Day in the NBA’s history, will hold the record after the Lakers’ game against the Mavericks on December 25th, 2022.

Other records LeBron James holds

James has a record of 10-6 on Christmas Day, with averages of 26.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.1 assists. James is the NBA’s all-time leader in points scored and 3-pointers made on Christmas Day, as well as having participated in the most Christmas Day games in league history. On Christmas Day in 2021, James overtook Kobe Bryant as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

Oscar Robertson now holds the record for the most assists on Christmas Day, although James is only 30 assists behind him. The NBA record for most steals on Christmas Day is held by James’ teammate Westbrook. This Christmas season, both players will seek to increase the number of steals they have thus far.

James trails Bryant by just five giveaways for the most ever on Christmas, which is normal when you play the most games in NBA history on the holiday. One might be surprised to learn that James holds the record for most 3-pointers made on Christmas. In 2022, with the 76ers also competing on the holiday, James Harden, who is only two 3-pointers behind LeBron, might overtake him.
