Jayson Tatum’s career with the Celtics

In his sixth season in the NBA, Tatum has transformed from a consistent All-Star into a front-runner for the MVP award. He just led the Celtics to the NBA Finals, and this season he was averaging a career-high 30.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and one steal per game.

As long as he plays for the Celtics, Tatum, 24, is on track to surpass Bird’s record of 50-point games, but he is doing so at a time when 50-point games are considerably more frequent than they were when Bird was playing.
