While the majority might downplay LeBron James’ credentials in the GOAT debate, the King is all set to break the unthinkable all-time scoring record in the first week of February by all means. His former teammate, Kendrick Perkins came forward to just detail how ‘The Chosen One’ was always destined for greatness.

Perkins emphasized how LeBron James was bound to achieve success since his early days in the league on the latest episode of NBA Today.

Perkins said,It’s crazy to me. And when I look at LeBron’s journey, and I look at what he’s done and how he’s prepared himself. He knew that he was destined for greatness. He knew that he was gonna be one of the greatest of all time. To take care of his body, to take care of his mental, to make sure that his off-the-court habits as far as being a professional was able to withstand is a beautiful thing to see.”

Perkins added on LeBron, “What else can we really, really say? What can we say? Can we bring him up in a GOAT conversation? Because LeBron could’ve retired three years ago when he won a championship with the Lakers and nobody would’ve said a damn word. But he’s still going to this day. What is left for him to achieve after he win the scoring title? What else? What can we say?”

Averaging 29.9 points even in his 20th season in the season is a testament of how hard LeBron James has worked despite the success he has achieved in his career. Given that he is just 116 points away from surpassing Kareem Abdul Jabbar in the all-time scoring list, hopefully, Perkins has reserved his best words for his former teammate.
