NBA News: Draymond Green furiously criticizes NBA over postponing the Warriors and the Nuggets game

Covid-19 outburst within Denver franchise forced NBA to postpone the game against Golden State Warriors. Draymond Green criticized the decision.

NBA has tried to stick with its season’s schedule and done everything to avoid delays or postponing of the games. But the league was forced to postpone the game between Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors due to a Covid outbreak within the Denver team. Draymond Green did not like the decision and took the help of Twitter to express his anger.

Draymond had a 3-fold message for NBA regarding the decision. His concerns are when a game is postponed, it will be squeezed between 2 games taking away the rest day from the players, (especially Warriors players for him) which will give an advantage to the opponents.

Also Draymond Green had mentioned that Denver Nuggets defeated the Warriors just 2 days back when the Golden State team was not at the full strength. Important Warriors’ players including Draymond Green were absent from the team.

Draymond suggested that the rules should be fair to all the franchises, if the Warriors can play the match without their main players, so should the Nuggets also. Denver had won the 1st meeting between two teams earlier this week. The manner and the margin of the win might have hurt Draymond.

Why the game is postponed?

The current outbreak within the Nuggets team left them shorthanded, and could not name 8 players available for the match. This forced NBA to postpone the game. NBA has not released any new date for the game. NBA has postponed 11 games so far due to the Covid-19 outburst.

The Nuggets have head coach Mike Malone, two assistant coaches and players Jeff Green, and Bones Hyland, and Zeke Nnaji in the league’s health and safety protocols on Thursday. Also, Austin Rivers, Monte Morris, Aaron Gordon, and Vlatko Cancar were all questionable due to injuries.

Denver Nuggets just found a new G-league affiliate team – Grand Rapids Gold, but the association is very young (not even a season old) and Denver has opted not to sign any new player under hardship rule too.

Draymond Green’s post had many replies some siding with his views and some opposing the points made by him. But the post is a perfect example of the competitive and open-minded Draymond Green for us.
