According to an American Airlines employee, Gordon struck his son “multiple times” with a ‘closed fist’ in the face and yelled at him after his son dropped a book on the floor of LaGuardia Airport.

Next, the police came in to handle the situation. However, Gordon resisted arrest and injured two police officers in the struggle.

When the Port Authority cops came to arrest Gordon, he “flailed his arms and twisted his body” and told the officers “I am not going with you guys,” according to the complaint report. Next, when two officers attempted to get Gordon into the patrol car, he allegedly pushed his weight against them — injuring one cop’s knee and the other’s arm and wrist.

Following the incident, Gordon’s son and both police officers were admitted to a local hospital for treatment.

Gordon and his son were waiting for a departing flight to Chicago from LaGuardia Airport at the time of the incident, sources say.

These are the charges Gordon is facing; two counts of assault in the second degree, one count of criminal contempt, one count of assault in the third degree, one count of resisting arrest, one count of criminal contempt in the second degree, one count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of attempted assault in the third degree, per TMZ Sports.

Later on, Gordon was released from the arrest that was linked to assaulting his son. For his release, the Queens Criminal Court set bail at $20,000 cash, $50,000 insurance bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond at 10%.

Six-foot-three-inch Gordon couldn’t immediately post bail and spent the night at Rikers Island. He was released in the morning after posting bail.

On the other hand, Gordon’s son has an order of protection out against his father dating back to May 2018. The order prohibited Gordon from “committing physical abuse, harassment, or the interference with personal liberty” against his son. The order also prevents Gordon from removing his son from the state of Illinois.

Meanwhile, Gordon’s ex-girlfriend stated that her former boyfriend did not hit his son at LaGuardia Airport.

Ashley Banks, Gordon’s ex-lover told that the NBA star did not punch his son, and a “Karen” – a pejorative term targeting privileged White women – identified Gordon as a celebrity sparked his arrest.

“The problem is the child was traumatized,” said Banks, who dated Gordon from 2016 to 2020.

“The child saw his father being arrested, taken away,” Banks said. “He was waiting in custody until his aunt picked him up. So that is the worst part of it, you know, and so we want to really protect him.”

“We were just disappointed because you keep seeing this pattern with black people,” Banks said. “And it’s sad, but like a child is traumatized from it. How do you calm a 10-year-old? He’s probably going to be scared of the police. Because he’s little.” (h/t: NY Post)
