If Anthony Davis would’ve been healthy at this point for the Los Angeles Lakers, the 17-time NBA Champs could’ve been amongst the Top 6 teams in the Western Conference. However, the reality suggests contrary and harsh checks as the Purple and Gold are struggling to rise from the bottom three places.

Anthony Davis was averaging more than 32 points per game during a brief 9-game spell as the Lakers seemed to have got new life with the Brow coming in MVP form. However, since he sustained a foot injury against the Denver Nuggets, Darvin Ham’s team has only managed to register a lackluster tally of 14-21, 13th seed in the WC standings.

Given that Davis’ overall average was 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game, his absence in haunting Darvin, LeBron James led Los Angeles Lakers. Moreover, the former star has been ruled out for an indefinite time period, indicating that there is no guaranteed time table upon his return.

What is Anthony Davis’ Injury Update?

As per Dave McMenamin, “Darvin Ham, two weeks after Anthony Davis suffered the stress injury in his right foot, says ‘the biggest thing is, his pain has just about dissipated’ and says Davis is trending in the right direction when it comes to approaching a ramp up to return to the court.”

That being said, Anthony Davis is the key for Lakers’ playoff aspirations, any positive news upon his return is a huge relief for the Lakers and their coach Darvin Ham. Furthermore, even if the Lakers want to secure a play-in tournament berth, they cannot hope for LeBron to drag them for the next 3-4 months single-handedly.
