Alex Caruso praises Ja Morant on his “Crazy” block

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant received lots of praises for his acrobatic block: Alex Caruso “This is Crazy btw”

Memphis Grizzlies are making the headlines in recent times, with their winning streak and players making great plays in it. NBA’s Rookie of the season 2020 Ja Morant is their centerpiece and he came up big for the team.

The Memphis team was up against LA Lakers. While everyone was expecting another huge display from Morant, he couldn’t score big but did make some plays to uplift the energy and confidence of the Grizzlies in the game.

One such impressive play was his athletic chase-down block on Avery Bradley. It was a treat to watch, not for the Lakers nation though. His blocks received lots of praises considering the difficulty and the execution by Morant. Alex Caruso –ex Lakers player reacted,  

Avery Bradley deflected Ja Morant’s pass and went for the easy lay-up shot. Morant, continued his run and grabs the ball from Bradley, while he was attempting the shot. Ja nearly banged his head on the board, but luckily he was able to collect his “blocked shot”.

LeBron James, who had many historical chase-down blocks before, also praised Morant for this play.

Ja Morant is Grizzlies’ top scorer and assists maker this season. He averages 24.7 points and 6.7 assists per game for the. Interestingly 22-year guard is second to Steven Adams in rebounds for the Grizzlies.

His impressive season has led Memphis into 4th place in the Western Conference. They are on the season’s best 10-game winning run right now. Memphis has won 20 of the last 24 games.

They also have a huge 5.5 games advantage over 5th placed Dallas Mavericks. This situation allows them to rest their main players in the closing period of the regular season and they can start fresh in the postseason.

The league has already witnessed what fully fit and fresh Grizzlies can produce on the court. This clearly would be a worrying sign for the Western franchises.
