The alleged beef between NBA superstar Kevin Durant and pop sensation Rihanna follows way back in the year 2017.
It was the 2017 NBA Finals and the stage was set for the trilogy of Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers were facing the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals for the third time straight.
In 2017, Cleveland Cavaliers were led by LeBron James while the Golden State Warriors had their marquee players, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and of course Kevin Durant.

The alleged incident happened during Game 1 of the NBA Finals, where GSW was playing at home against Cleveland Cavaliers. Further, GSW won Game 1 and Kevin Durant put up a dominating performance.
Nevertheless, Game 1 of the Finals was visited by several celebrities and among them Rihanna sat at the courtside, witnessing the game upfront. It is a well-known fact that Rihanna is a massive LeBron fan so it is quite obvious for her to come watch the King play.
During the third quarter of the game, the alleged beef started between KD and Rihanna. Someone sitting in the front row shouted “BRICK!” just as Durant was shooting the second of his two free throws. This might have triggered KD and this is what started the beef against Rihanna.
Just after the ‘BRICK’ comment, Durant sunk his second free throw and was seen looking over in the direction of Rihanna, who was sitting in the front row.
A few minutes later, KD drained a three-pointer and then glared over in Rihanna’s direction again.
This was proof enough for the spectators and social media users to declare that Rihanna and Kevin Durant have a beef with each other.
Well to be fair, someone from Rihanna’s side really shouted ‘BRICK’ and KD was definitely answering back with his game and ice-cold stares.

It was found after deep research that Rihanna did not shout ‘BRICK’ while KD was taking his free throw. But it was someone close to Rihanna.
It turned out that it was the woman sitting next to Rihanna who yelled “BRICK!” Sources further identified that woman as none other than Rihanna’s assistant.
Moreover, after the game at the press conference, reporters asked about the beef between KD and Rihanna. Durant was visibly annoyed by the question and promptly replied “I don’t even remember that.”
However, you can put your doubts to rest because at present two-time NBA champion KD and Rihanna really have a good relationship and are good friends.
