Beverley, who had previously expressed his desire to play for the Lakers, finally got his wish to play alongside LeBron James fulfilled when the Lakers signed both of them.
Beverley is widely regarded as the ideal candidate to fill the role of defensive leader on the Lakers. It has led many to conclude that this is an excellent move on the part of the Lakers. LeBron James has also been quite close to Beverley over the years, and it is a great pickup for the team.

The reporter asked, “You’ll be playing with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.” Beverley replied, “They’re gonna be playing with me. I made the playoffs last year, they didn’t. It’s a difference.”
