Following Irving’s sharing of antisemitic material on social media and his initial refusal to declare his opposition to antisemitism, the Brooklyn Nets player, Kyrie Irving is no longer under the Nike contract, with Nike being a global footwear company.
A Nike representative was unable to provide any further information regarding the action right now. The choice was mutual, Irving’s representative Shetellia Riley Irving told CNBC. “We wish Nike nothing but the best in their future endeavors.”
According to Sportico, Irving’s shoe contract with Nike was one of the NBA’s most lucrative ones, bringing in roughly $11 million in revenue for him annually. In 2014, Irving agreed to a contract with Nike to create his own pair of shoes, and this month, the Kyrie 8s were set for sale.
