Tottenham Prediction: Probable XI to face Chelsea

Tottenham travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in a game that pits Jose Mourinho against his former club on Saturday.

The North London club have won their last three Premier League games, with the latest league victory coming over Aston Villa at the weekend. Their consecutive victories have seen Mourinho’s side climb up to fifth in the table, just a point behind their Saturday’s opponents.

However, Tottenham come into this contest on the back of a 1-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16.

Team News

Son Heung-min suffered a fractured arm against Aston Villa on Sunday and has been ruled out for the season. Harry Kane is already sidelined with a torn hamstring. Moussa Sissoko and Juan Foyth also remain out injured.

Tottenham Prediction: Probable XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Since returning from injury, Lloris has been in really good form between the sticks and made a number of saves against RB Leipzig on Wednesday. He will start in goal on Saturday.

Serge Aurier (RB)

Aurier has been a regular fixture in defence under Mourinho. The Ivorian will keep his place at right-back.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The young defender finally seems to have secured a spot in the Tottenham side. The Colombian will retain his place at centre-back.

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

Alderweireld has been Spurs’ leader at the back under Mourinho. The Belgian will have to be at his best to stop Chelsea from scoring.

Ben Davies (LB)

Davies was guilty of giving away a penalty against Leipzig, which Werner scored. The Welshman will be raring to redeem himself with a solid performance against Chelsea.

Harry Winks (CM)

Winks has performed well for Tottenham this season, becoming a crucial cog in Mourinho’s engine room. The England international will retain his place in the side at the weekend.

Giovani Lo Celso (CM)

Lo Celso enjoyed another strong game on Wednesday in the Champions League against Leipzig. The in-form Argentinean will partner Winks in the middle of the park.

Erik Lamela (RW)

Lamela made an impact after coming off the bench in the second half against Leipzig in the Champions League. This could be enough to hand him a start at Stamford Bridge.

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli was poor against Leipzig, failing to impact Spurs’ play in the final third. But with Mourinho lacking attacking options, the England international could continue to start.

Steven Bergwijn (LW)

Bergwijn has added flair to Tottenham’s attack following his move from PSV Eindhoven in January. The Dutchman will start on the left flank.
