Molly McCann was one of the big stars during the weekend’s UFC London event but one fan asked a question that led to an answer about her sexuality

Molly McCann had a lot riding on her shoulders at this weekend’s UFC event. This was being held in London and she was favoured to win her fight against Julija Stoliarenko.

Meatball, as she is nicknamed, was hoping to get back to winning ways after her last fight ended in a loss. However, there was a lot going on during a Q+A session even before the fight took place.

Another British star, Paddy Pimblett, was speaking with the fans and was asked a rather surprising question. Pimblett and McCann are good friends and one person asked if Pimblett and McCann had intercourse.

Pimblett was taken aback a bit but then opened up and answered about McCann’s sexuality. He confirmed that the female was a lesbian and is engaged while he is married

“You do know Molly’s a lesbian? She’s got a fiance, and I’m married.”

Many fans were unimpressed with the line of questioning, given that this was a huge event. Anytime the UFC leaves the US is a big deal and this kind of questioning helps no one, not the fighters or the promotion.

Things don’t go as planned for Molly McCann

The Liverpudlian, however, didn’t have a great outing at her home event. While the crowd was behind her and cheering her on, McCann was defeated by her rival, Stoliarenko.

The fight didn’t last long as McCann was caught in an armbar at 1:55 of the first round. This was her second straight defeat in the UFC, and has taken the wind out of her sails.

She was on a three-fight winning streak prior to that, but she has had her ups and downs in the UFC.

The former Cage Warriors Women’s Flyweight lost her debut UFC fight against Gillian Robertson. She then won her next three before losing the two fights after that.

McCann now has a record of 13 wins and 6 losses. The 33-year-old remains popular on the UFC circuit, but she will take some time off before getting her next fight.
