Derek Anderson suffered a broken nose after a huge kick from Michael ‘Venom’ Page at Bellator 258

Michael ‘Venom’ Page is possibly one of the biggest MMA stars in the business at the moment. While he is on Bellator, the 34 Brit has only lost one of his MMA fights.

Page is known for his kickboxing technique and well, he showed that in the latest Bellator event. The 34-year-old was facing Derek Anderson at Bellator 258 and produced another sensational kick to add to his list of highlights.

This took place in the first round itself and a huge leg kick from Page hit Anderson straight on his nose. Anderson was rocked a lot but he continued to fight. However, the doctors had a look at Anderson after the first round and the fight had to be stopped.

Anderson tried to continue and was having some trouble breathing from the nose, and it was probably the right decision to stop the fight.

MVP speaks after breaking nose of Derek Anderson

This was the 19th MMA win for MVP and he spoke about this viral moment. The 34-year-old respected Anderson for being able to take the hits (h/t MMA Junkie):

“I knew I’d land (the kick). I come in straight lines – I’m a sniper. I come down the middle. I wanted to see if he’d keep going to the same side, so I knew I’d land it. He’s a tough guy. I really respect that. I’m used to tough guys. Tough guys are only good when they can hit their target. Strength means everything with you can land it, but nothing when you can’t.”

MVP also called out Douglas Lima, the only person to have defeated the Brit in MMA. This fight happened over a couple of years back and MVP didn’t explicitly name his rival but claimed that he wanted a redemption fight and everyone knew who he was talking about.

Hopefully, Anderson’s nose break isn’t too serious and he can return to action soon.
