At this year’s World Baseball Classic, there is a great deal more magic than in previous years. In the competition, star player Javier Báez is representing Puerto Rico. The infielder previously competed for Puerto Rico in 2017, when the team achieved a second-place finish after falling short in the championship game against the United States.

He was also responsible for one of the most iconic plays in the history of the World Baseball Classic when he applied his signature no-look tag on Nelson Cruz while he was celebrating and the throw had not yet arrived.

Puerto Rico, which has been in second place in the last two WBC championships, will try to finally win the title this time around against major competitors such as Japan, the United States of America, and the Dominican Republic.
