Predicted Liverpool line-up to face Burnley in the Premier League

Liverpool will hope to overcome last weekend’s disappointment against Everton when they host Burnley at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds drew 0-0 with Merseyside rivals Everton at the Goodison Park that saw Manchester City leapfrog at the top of the table. Jurgen Klopp will know his side cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to catch Pep Guardiola’s City.

Burnley, who are 16th in the table, come into this game off the back of a disappointing 3-1 home loss to Crystal Palace.

Team News

Dejan Lovren is back in training and could make the bench for the weekend’s game.

Probable Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson Becker (GK)

The Brazilian has been a stellar presence in goal for Liverpool and should start against Burnley.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster has been very impressive for Liverpool this campaign and has featured regularly when fit. He is expected to start at right-back on Sunday.

Liverpool

Joel Matip (CB)

The Cameroonian has formed a solid partnership at the back with Van Dijk and Klopp should not disturb the pair at any case.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Van Dijk has revolutionized Liverpool’s backline with his mere presence. He is one the chief reasons why the Reds have conceded the least number of goals this season.

Andrew Robertson (LB)

Currently one the best full-backs in the Premier League, Robertson will look to put in a good display by keeping things tight at the back.

Fabinho (CDM)

The Brazilian has become a regular fixture for the Reds after a slow start to his career in English football. He is expected to start in his usual role and bring calmness to the midfield.

Fabinho

Naby Keita (RCM)

Klopp needs to have a dynamic midfield trio at home against Burnley and that could signal the recall of Keita this weekend.

Georginio Wijnaldum (LCM)

Wijnaldum has been a consistent performer for the Merseysiders and should complete the midfield trio.

Sadio Mane (LW)

It’s time for Klopp to get back to the basics and hand Mane a starting role on the left. When on form, the Senegalese is one of the dangerous players in the Premier League.

salah2

Mohamed Salah (RW)

Salah has gone off the boil in the last few games. The Egyptian needs to get back his mojo if Liverpool are to win the Premier League title this season.
