West Bromwich Albion Prediction: Probable XI to face Millwall

West Brom travel to Millwall on Sunday hoping to retain their position at the top of the Championship table.

The Baggies won 2-0 over Luton Town over the weekend, bouncing back after back-to-back defeats in the Championship. They are currently top of the table, six points clear of the chasing pack in the promotion race.

Millwall, meanwhile, are ninth in the table and come into Sunday’s contest off the back of a 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Team News

Kieran Gibbs is back training with the rest of the West Brom squad as he steps up his recovery from the hamstring injury he suffered on New Year’s Day. On-loan winger Grady Diangana, meanwhile, is likely to be back in about a month or so.

Matheus Pereira is available for selection at the weekend after serving a three-game ban.

West Brom Prediction: Probable XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Sam Johnstone (GK)

Johnstone is West Brom’s undisputed first-choice goalkeeper and should start against Millwall on Sunday.

Dara O’Shea (RB)

O’Shea started ahead of Furlong at right-back and helped West Brom keep a clean sheet against Luton. That could see him get another start at the weekend.

Kyle Bartley (CB)

Bartley has been a rock at the back for West Brom this campaign. He’s a certainty to start against the Lions.

Semi Ajayi (CB)

Ajayi was on the score sheet in the victory over Luton last time out. He will partner Bartley at the back in the upcoming game.

Conor Townsend (LB)

Townsend has been in good form of late and deserves to keep his place at left-back.

Romaine Sawyers (CM)

Sawyers will look to dictate the tempo of the game with his distribution skills at the Den. He’s one of the most important players for Slaven Bilic and his presence in midfield on Sunday will be key.

Jake Livermore (CM)

Partnering Sawyers in the middle of the park should be Livermore, who will be tasked to break Millwall’s attacks.

Matt Phillips (RW)

Phillips’ form has dipped since the last month or so. He’ll be raring to get back his mojo against Millwall.

Matheus Pereira (CAM)

After serving a three-game ban, Pereira will walk straight back into the starting XI. He has been one of the best players in the Championship this season and will be key in opening up Millwall’s defence.

Callum Robinson (LW)

Robinson caught the eye in his first game for West Brom following his loan move from Sheffield United last month. He had a strong game against Luton and will be looking to build on it at the Den on Sunday.
