Manchester United Opinion: Why the Red Devils must sign Abdulkadir Omur

Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Trabzonspor starlet Abdulkadir Omur, reports Turkish Football.

Trabzonspor President Ali Alioglu has confirmed that Manchester United had a representative to watch players Yusuf Yazici and Abdulkadir Omur against Alanyaspor on Monday.

Speaking about Abdulkadir Omur, he is regarded as one of the jewels of Turkish football. The highly-rated teenager, who has four goals and nine assists in 29 appearances this season, has also caught the attention of Liverpool and Lille.

But it appears Manchester United are at the front of the queue after scouting Omur during Monday’s 4-2 win over Kayserispor.

United’s 1-1 draw with relegated Huddersfield Town side at the weekend confirmed that they will not be playing Champions League football next season. When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho in an interim manager’s role in December, Champions League qualification was always regarded as a long shot.

But, a bright start to the Norwegian’s reign gave the United fans hope, only for a dismal run of form of late to kill off their chances of a top-four finish. The 46-year-old United boss needs to bring in new blood, but more importantly, he should recruit someone who can regularly contribute with assists and goals next season. The Red Devils need someone who can be a lot more direct and creative in the final third, which makes Abdulkadir Omur a brilliant fit at Old Trafford.

Omur operates as a right winger, but he is equally adept at playing in central midfield and as a creative no.10. He is an excellent dribbler and has a sudden burst of pace to outsmart his opponents. The teenage sensation isn’t very flashy, but has a great change of direction and turn of pace, along with a vicious strike in his left-foot from long-range.
