Tottenham Prediction: Probable XI to face Manchester City

Tottenham will welcome Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday as they look to make it two Premier League wins in a row.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs are sixth in the table, just outside the automatic qualifying places for Europe. Prior to an entertaining 1-1 draw with Southampton in the FA Cup fourth round, the north Londoners defeated Norwich City 2-1 at home.

Spurs’ opponents on Sunday, Manchester City are second in the table and unbeaten in their last five league games.

Team News

Tottenham have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s game. New Tottenham signing Steven Bergwijn will be in contention to make his debut against Man City.

Tottenham Prediction: Probable XI

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris has walked straight back into the starting XI since recovering from a shoulder injury. He’ll be in goal on Sunday.

Serge Aurier (RWB)

Aurier isn’t reliable when it comes to defending, meaning it would be best if the Ivorian starts at right wing-back against Man City.

Toby Alderweireld (RCB)

A leader at the back, Alderweireld is a certainty to start. He’ll need to be at his best to keep Aguero at bay.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Sanchez has blown hot and cold this campaign, but he’s a certainty to start at the weekend.

Jan Vertonghen (LCB)

Vertonghen’s experience and leadership would be required at the back if Spurs are to stop City.

Ryan Sessegnon (LWB)

Sessegnon seems to be more attack-minded, thus he could benefit from starting at left wing-back.

Harry Winks (CM)

A workhorse in the middle of the park, Winks will look to keep things simple and break City’s attacks. He’s a certainty to start at home.

Giovani Lo Celso (CM)

Lo Celso will once again be called upon to provide the creativity in the centre of the park on Sunday. The Argentinean has impressed in recent weeks and will partner Winks in midfield.

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli is expected to play a key role for the team as he would be an important figure that links things between midfield and attack.

Lucas Moura (RS)

Moura’s burst of pace and movement could cause a lot of problems for City’s defenders. The Brazilian will start in a two-pronged attack alongside Son.
