Leicester City Opinion: Why the Foxes should sign Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen?
According to a report from Hull Live, Leicester City are interested in signing Hull City star Jarrod Bowen. The Foxes aren’t the only team interested in him, as Tottenham and Southampton are also keen on the young winger, adds the report.
Jarrod Bowen, 22, enjoyed a stunning season in the Championship, scoring 22 goals and supplying four assists in the process for Hull City. He has been on the books of Hull since 2014 and going by his performances in the Championship this season, the former Hereford United youngster has a bright future ahead of him.
That being said, Leicester City should beat the likes of Tottenham and Southampton to the signature of Bowen, who is valued in the region of £15 million.
Leicester City ended the 2018/19 season ninth in the table after enjoying an upturn in form since Brendan Rodgers’ appointment. The Foxes have shown impressive signs under Rodgers, who should look to bring in reinforcements in the summer transfer window. With the likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Demarai Gray and Jamie Vardy lining up attack, there is a sense of excitement to their forward play.
To make Leicester’s attack more potent and make his team capable of challenging for a place in the top six next season, Rodgers should sign Bowen, who is a top talent and one of the best outside the Premier League in all honesty. He’ll be a good fit at Leicester and has the qualities required to flourish in the top flight of English football.
Predominantly a right winger, Bowen can also play as a false 9 or as a secondary striker. He is renowned for his ability to cut in from the right wing and fire shots at goal from his vicious left foot. The 22-year-old boasts of excellent pace and is quite a difficult man to stop when he is dribbling with the ball at full speed.
Bowen’s main strengths are his ability to create plays in the opposition half, whilst his goalscoring capability will certainly take the burden off Vardy’s shoulders. Also, the ex-Hereford United starlet will make Leicester a fearsome side to come up against by combining brilliantly with the likes of Maddison, Vardy, Gray and Barnes.
Bowen has enjoyed a fantastic season with Hull in the Championship and could be tempted to make a move to the Premier League if any club comes calling in the summer. All things considered, the 22-year-old would undoubtedly bolster Rodgers’ attacking options at the King Power Stadium.
