Some players have come forward to report that Amazon’s MMORPG New World beta is bricking up their graphics card. Find out to know if this can happen to your graphic card.

Amazon’s New World an MMORPG has entered the beta testing phase. Curious fans rushed to try out the new game. But now, some players are reporting that the game has caused their graphic card to malfunction. As of now, this problem is affecting only one graphic card. The graphic card in question is- EVGA 3090 FTW3. It is a $2000 graphic card.

It was first reported on the New World subreddit. Soon after many players responded to the thread with the same issue. It looks like the issue is specific to the EVGA 3090 cards. But players with other brands 3090 cards have also reported overheating and extreme power consumption.

Sean ‘Gladd’ Gallagher, a twitch streamer also tweeted about facing the same issue. The game runs fine for thirty minutes. Then the framerate drops to 0 and the screen goes blank with audio still running. After that, the PC doesn’t recognize the graphic card.

It is curious that this issue is affecting only a certain type of graphic card. The game runs fine with low settings on cheaper versions of the card. EVGA has said that the RTX 3090 cards which have faced this issue will be considered to be “under warranty” and will be dealt with. There has been no news from Amazon regarding this issue.
