Aldridge was picked in the NBA All-Rookie first team, gradually developing his defensive and offensive game to earn a massive extension in 2008. He replaced Brandon Roy as the team’s leader and averaged a career-high 21.1 points per game, a career-high 9.1 rebounds and a career-high 2.6 assists in 2012-13. Aldridge was touted to be traded by the Trailblazers in 2013 but he decided to remain in Portland and help the franchise. He helped them to their 30th playoff birth and joined Michael Jordan, Jerry West, Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady as the only players in NBA history to score 89 or more points in the first two games of a playoff series.

Aldridge was signed by the Spurs during the 2015 free-agency where he was seen as a successor of Tim Duncan. Aldridge played under famed coach Gregg Popovich but could not match fan expectations. He was bought out of his contract in 2021 after which he joined the Nets and continues to play there alongside Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. The Texas-born athlete has seven All-Star appearances to his name and was selected into five All-NBA teams.
