Lamar Odom played only one season for the University of Rhode Island before declaring for the NBA Draft in 1999. The Los Angeles Clippers subsequently selected him. In his rookie season with the Clippers, Odom averaged 16.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
In the 2003-2004 season, Odom joined the Miami Heat where he was partnered with Dwyane Wade and Caron Butler. He was the starting power forward for the Heat.
Odom was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2004-2005 season where he partnered up with Kobe Bryant. Along with Bryant, Odom won two NBA Championships in 2009 and 2010.
In 2011, Odom was traded to the Dallas Mavericks and after an unsuccessful season, Odom parted ways with Mavericks in 2012.
In 2012, he was traded back to the Los Angeles Clippers and by 2013 he was a free agent. In his free agency, Odom negotiated no contract. In 2014, Odom retired from the NBA.
