Jessica Andrade was born in Brazil in September 1991 and fought in a variety of independent MMA promotions in her native country. Her MMA debut came all the way back in September 2011, where she beat Weidy Borges via TKO in Sagaz Combat.

2 years later, she fought outside Brazil for the first time as she faced, and beat, Milana Dudieva via submission at Pro FC 47: Russia vs Europe. And her big moment came just a few months later in July 2013 as she took on Liz Carmouche at UFC on FOX 8.

She lost then, but has really picked up the pace since then and even gone on to become the UFC strawweight champion. Andrade is now well-known for her big punches and is a feared opponent inside the octagon.
