Sinner began playing junior tennis in 2016 but was never interested in playing at that level. He never played the main draw of any high-level Grade 1 events except Trofeo Bonfiglio. His main focus was always to make it big as a professional tennis star. And he got that opportunity in early 2018 as a wild card entrant in ATP Challenger Tour events. That is the second tier run by the Association of Tennis Professionals. He never tasted success in singles there as well but continues this hard work.

Soon Sinner won his first ATP Challenger title in Bergamo when he was just 17 years. In the process, he became the first person born in 2001 to reach a Challenger final, and the youngest Italian to win a Challenger title in history. He kept on rising in rankings from then. His first ATP Masters victory came at the Italian Open. He kept on climbing the ladder and tasted lots of success from runner-up finishes to ending the season strongly.

However, Sinner will be eager to break his duck at Grand Slam events and will target success at the US Open later in 2023.
