Predicted Leeds United XI to face Aston Villa in the Championship

Patrick Bamford’s first goal of the season secured all three points for Leeds United as Marcelo Bielsa’s side brushed past Bolton Wanderers 1-0 in the Championship last week.

The Peacocks have won each of their last five games in the Championship and they will have a tough battle in their hands when they make the trip to the Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Saturday.

Aston Villa have drawn their last two games against West Brom and Stoke City and the Lions will be desperate to bag all three points to stay within striking distance of a promotion playoff spot.

Team News

Patrick Bamford started from the bench in the last game and he is fit and running to face Villa on Saturday. Marcelo Bielsa will be a happy man heading into the weekend clash as he has no significant injuries to contend with.

Predicted XI

1. Bailey Peacock-Farrell (GK)

The Northern Irishman had a few nervy moments in the last game but deserves all the credit for keeping a clean sheet.

2. Jamie Shackleton (RB)

He looked comfortable in possession last week and contributed to both defence and attack.

3. Pontus Jansson (CB)

The Swedish international was the pick of the defenders in the last game and won a lot of aerial balls to keep the opposition at bay.

4. Kalvin Phillips (CB)

He had a decent game last week at the heart of the defence and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

7. Pablo Hernandez (RM)

The Spanish veteran set up Bamford for the winner with a lovely through ball against Bolton and has been one of the key components of Leeds’ attack this season.

8. Jack Harrison (CM)

The Manchester City loanee should start ahead of Lewis Baker who had a poor game last week.

9. Mateusz Klich (CM)
