The Romanian has also reached the semifinals in Indian Wells and the quarterfinal in Madrid, defeating the likes of Coco Gauff, Paula Badosa, Petra Martic, and Sorana Cirstea along the way. Halep began her Italian Open with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Alize Cornet.

Collins has an incredible start to the season as she reached the final of the Australian Open by beating Clara Tauson, Iga Swiatek, Elise Mertens, Ana Konjuh, Caroline Dolehide, and Cornet along the way. However, the American lost to Ashleigh Barty at the final hurdle.
The 28-year-old also reached the quarterfinals in Miami but was eliminated in the second round at the Madrid Open. She will be hoping to go far at the Italian Open this year.
