Zabit Magomedsharipov was once touted to be a UFC champion but does he have a wife?

Zabit Magomedsharipov might be one of those stories that MMA fans will share for generations to come.

The 31-year-old Russian is considered one of the best featherweight fighters on the planet, but he never won the UFC title.

We will get to why that never happened, but as is the case with many of the big MMA names, there is a lot of interest in their personal lives.

Magomedsharipov has a younger brother, who is also an MMA star. However, not much is known about the Russian’s relationship history.

Some reports claim that the Russian is married to Amina Abdullaeva. However, other reports can’t confirm whether he is single or in a relationship.

Magomedsharipov seems to have done a very good job of keeping some aspects of his life away from the media, and it is difficult to ascertain if he is married or single. 

Zabit Magomedsharipov hangs up his gloves?

The Russian has not fought since 2019 when he defeated Calvin Kattar in the main event of a UFC Fight Night.

Magomedsharipov’s record stands at 18-1 and the Russian had not lost a single fight during his UFC career.

He was ranked #3 at one point in his division but was removed from the rankings due to injury and inactivity. There were talks of him facing Yair Rodriguez in 2020, but that fight never took place as Rodriguez picked up an injury, 

There was also news of the Russian suffering from health issues and needing to undergo surgery.

However, it seems his fighting days are long gone. Magomedsharipov seems to have confirmed to the UFC that he is retiring from active competition and he plans to become a doctor.

The Russian could have been a worthy adversary to Alexander Volkanovski. However, this just was not meant to be.
