Michael ‘Venom’ Page (MVP) is one of the biggest free agents in the MMA world but is he heading to the UFC?

There is a lot of excitement around the future of Michael ‘Venom’ Page (MVP). The former Bellator star is a free agent and one of the hottest properties in the MMA world.

Page is known for his highlight-reel finishes and is one of the most exciting fighters on the planet. While he has never won a title for Bellator, he holds several other records in the promotion. Page left Bellator after his win over Goiti Yamauchi after Bellator 292, and has spoken about his future.

While Page was on FREESTYLEBENDER, the British star was asked if he saw the UFC as a potential destination (h/t MMA Mania):

“Can I see myself there? 100 percent.”

Another star who followed this route is Michael Chandler. The former three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion joined the UFC after his contract expired, and he has been part of some of the biggest fights in recent years.

Despite failing to win a title, Michael Chandler certainly has become a big star in the UFC. He has fought big names such as Dan Hooker, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje. He even lost a title fight against Charles Oliveira and was the coach opposite Conor McGregor in the recent TUF season.

Page also wanted to fight only the top contenders, should he move to the UFC:

“I want Top 5, Top 10 max. I don’t feel like I need to prove myself all over again,” he continued. “I just want to go in there … and we’ve seen it with Michael Chandler. He went in there, fought a top 10 Dan Hooker, great first win for him that just sprung him into title contention.

“That is the route I see myself in. I don’t see it in any other way. I don’t need a warm-up fight, and it’s not like I’ve been out of the game for ages. I’m ready to go now.”

Page does have an MMA record to back up what he is saying. He has 23 fights under his belt and has won 21 of them.

However, Page hasn’t ruled out a return to the Bellator cage, and it will be interesting to see where he does end up.

The 36-year-old could be a huge signing for the UFC and add some more spice to the Welterweight division. Leon Edwards is the current champion, and there could be an all-British clash in the future if Page joins the UFC.
